What would you do if attacked by someone with a gun? How would you react? Honestly, I have no idea. That is why EDGE and RedZone Tactical have teamed up tonight to help you save your life. EDGE is lucky enough to have US Force Recon Marine Scott Redmond as a student in our program. Many of you know him as Red, but what you didn&apos;t know is that he daylights as an instructor to armed forces, police officers, and personal security agencies. Scott has served multiple tours of duty and perfected his technique in real world situations.

The Force Recon Marines are the first ones in and last ones out of the United States&apos; most dangerous missions. When the Army Rangers get stuck, who goes in to save them? Scott.

Tonight&apos;s instruction will be an hour and a half- learning how to save your life if an attacker pulls a knife or gun on you. You will know how to handle unexpected attacks, where to go, and how to react to save your life. Bring your wives, girlfriends, and anyone else you worry about when they are alone. For EDGE students, if you bring two outside friends/ guests your attendance if FREE.

<title>@BandanaTraining cuts the fat- not the calories.</title>

<description>Bandana Training is one of the highest end personal training suits in the country, it is run by my close friend and former Michigan Wrestling stud, Rob Sulaver. On top of his day job of ripping athletes and super models, Rob moonlights as a writer for a number of online and print fitness magazines: Mens Fitness, Muscle &amp; Health, and Self. Here he tells us why counting calories is out and never should have been in. We live in freaking NYC, the hippest area in the country. Why, oh why, did you ever jump on such an un-hip trend as counting calories? Don&apos;t worry, there is still time to fix this. You will return to cool, I promise. Follow Bandana Trainings advice and you will soon be on your way back to hip with some extra ab rip on the way!
Rob breaks down the basics of why counting calories only works short term. Why it makes you ornery like Bobby Buche in the water boy, and why calorie counting sends you into a dead end of fat trimming. Want to get lean and stay that way? Get Hip, click the link.

<title>Weight Cut 101: Day of Weigh In</title>

<description>While cutting weight is certainly not something we encourage, there is a right and wrong way to go about this practice. The majority of competitive athletes cut weight wrong. Period. Have you lost your legs in a match, or a fight? Knew your body wasn&apos;t performing as strong as you should be? Why am I tired in 2 minutes, I train harder than this? Weight Management. Learn to master your weight cut properly and you will find yourself dominating superior and more technical opponents, pushing them to exhaustion, and winning when frankly- maybe you shouldn&apos;t be. Soon you will be besting athletes who are better than you. What&apos;s it feel like to pull off a huge upset? Keep reading to find out. You have the best conditioning, skill, and stamina of anyone you train with, you are superior to everyone- but you negate all of this by cutting weight wrong, and zapping your body. Why do you train months for a fight only to spend the final week fatiging your body, muscles, and throwing those long hours of conditioning (face it the HARDEST part of your training) out the window simply because you have no clue how to eat? Let&apos;s keep reading to fix this-
To be continued...I have fights to coach!

<description>Roger Huerta has found himself loving life in Thailand. Training, traveling and enjoying traditional Thai. According to Roger the people there are just amazing, however with the encouragement of his manager, Huerta has returned to the states to visit friends and stay several weeks in NYC and train with some of the top level grapplers and UFC lightweights in the region. Prepairing himself for his possible future MMA return. The likeable Huerta visited EDGE Wrestling in Hoboken, New Jersey (Hudson County) just outside of New York City this week to brush up on some wrestling for MMA. Roger, enjoy your stay in the states before returning to Thailand! Can&apos;t wait to visit the new gym.

<description>Scheduled to make a return to the ring on February 24th, Gerald &quot;Lil Bomb&quot; Javier found not just one, but two opponents cancel on him at the last minute. Staying patient and extending his training camp one more month, Gee is now scheduled to fight this Saturday March 31st, along with three more Edge Hoboken Muay Thai students: Eduardo Andes, Clement Quartey, and JD Carson. <description>In 2011 Sonny Simonetti found one small step in a series of goals be accomplished; he had gained acceptance into Saint Peters Preperatory Academy, the next step was hoping of wrestling for the New Jersey powerhouse team in the starting lineup. That dream came true at the conclusion of 2011 and into 2012. Simonetti found himself with the starting 113lb role. Next up, getting some wins and making that state tournament. However, as often happens with high school students Simonetti found himself distracted. Distracted with the prospect of getting good grades. His wrestling career flourised earning 16 wins on his way to a regional birth. But what truely outshown the wrestlers talents on the mat, was his talent in the classroom. Even while cutting what may have been too much weight to make 113lbs as his body was trying to grow, the freshman maintained excellent marks in the classroom. Earning Second Honors in the heart of wrestling season. Congratulations on an exellent season and on understanding the importance of learning and education. Without great grades, great wrestlers can be held back from achieving their goals. Sonny is making sure he will be able to wrestle wherever his heart desires- and grades will not hold him back from that dream.

Congrats Sonny on an excellent term!

<description>RESULT: Unfortunately, Gerald found both of his opponents withdrawing last minute due not to injuiry or any other legitimate reason. They did not want to fight. Very unfortunate for our athlete who trained 6 hard weeks for this event and found himself without an opponant only 4 days before the event. This type of action in combat sports is far too common and very dissapointing. True competitors welcome any challenge.
-------------------------------
Friday, February 24th marks the day it begins. One man&amp;rsquo;s quest to develop into the greatest flyweight contender the UFC has ever seen. Developing his hands and grappling over the years, Gerald Javier was well known on the local amateur New Jersey Muay Thai scene, opponents often would shy away from stepping into the ring with &amp;lsquo;lil bomb.&amp;rsquo; However, his tutelage never helped him expand to find himself outside of the New Jersey local fight scene, little was known of Javier. After a recent shift in training camps, moving from KRU Muay Thai in Bergenfield, NJ where he got a great start to his career to the camp at EDGE Hoboken, Javier has found the opportunity to expand his training partners and finally open him up to the competition that he has been searching for.
Learning and perfecting his wrestling for MMA under head coach David Esposito and perfecting his Jiu Jitsu under David Branch has found the extra tools the native New Jersey MMA Fighter needs to break into the upper echelons of the fight game. Training with NJMMA and EDGE Bellator fighter Claudio Ledesma, Wreslting with 125lb NCAA Div 1 Wrestler, Brandon Kinney, and grappling with UFC Veteran Phillipe Nover has lead Javier to feel the confidence he needs to step back into the cage.

With new and talented sparring partners abound, look for 2012 to be the year that will let Gerald reach his true potential. America please welcome Gerald Javier. First up, 2-0 New York Sambo opponent.
