ABOUT MIXED MARTIAL ARTS TRAINING

Mixed Martial Arts – MMA Classes:
MMA class is 1 hour of training consisting of learning all facets of MMA: strikes, kicks, knees, elbows, clinch, takedowns, takedown defense, ground fighting, and submissions. While this class is physical, rest assured that it is technique based and focused on making the student well versed in all areas of Mixed Martial Arts. It is not a class in which students are beating each other up. Sparring is reserved for Pro and Amateur fighters only.

Jiu-jitsu Training:
Jiu-jitsu is a method of self-defense established in Japan emphasizing “jiū” (soft or gentle) “jitsu” (art or technique). Jiu-jitsu utilizes a large variety of techniques in defense against an opponent by clever use of the attacker’s own weight and strength. The martial art found it’s way to Brazil, where Jiu-jitsu developed into the current popular style we see today.

Brazilian Jiu-jitsu classes are 1 hour of training consisting of submissions from the standing and ground positions as well as throws, takedowns, and takedown defense. Jiu-jitsu training is done wearing a Gi. No Gi classes are offered to Blue belt level students and above. Belts White, Blue, Purple, Brown, and Black can be obtained through consistant  training. The Jiu-jitsu training environment is friendly and focused on learning the proper submission techniques with some "live" practicing at the end of our Jiu-jitsu classes.

Muay Thai Training:
Originating out of Thailand, Muay Thai is referred to as the “Art of Eight Limbs” because it makes use of punches, kicks, elbows and knee strikes, thus using eight “points of contact”, as opposed to “two points” (fists) in Western boxing and “four points” (hands and feet) used in sport-oriented martial arts.

Muay Thai classes are 1 hour of training learning how to punch, kick, knee, elbow, and clinch to strike. Gloves and hand wraps are required when first starting out with Muay Thai classes. As the student progresses, focus mits, leg guards, and kick pads will be utilized. Muay Thai training is done both individually and with a partner. Sparring is reserved for advanced Muay Thai students only.

Wrestling:
Wrestling is an ancient martial art that uses grappling type techniques such as clinch fighting, throws, takedowns, joint locks, pins, and other holds. A wrestling bout is generally between two people, who attempt to gain and maintain a superior position. Wrestling is one of the oldest of martial arts with the current styles being Folkstyle, Freestyle, and Greco Roman.

Wrestling class is 1 hour of training that consists of all aspects and styles of wrestling including stance, takedowns, takedown defense, clinches, holds, and turns. It's designed to develop the ability to control of your opponent, improve the skills necessary to be successful in Jiu-jitsu, grappling, MMA, and a great complete body workout.

Strength and Conditioning:
Strength and Conditioning class is a total body workout that combines martial arts training with plyometrics and complex movements. The class is designed to develop strong core muscles, increase cardio stamina, and gain strength. Whether you are looking to become fit or train for an upcoming fight the result will be the same, you being in the best shape of your life.
